Artists wishing to enter the Lansing Harmony Celebration Art Fair should read carefully our requirements.
IT'S ARTIST FRIENDLY, ARTIST FAIR....NEW RULES FOR ART FAIRS!
Lansing Harmony Celebration, in partnership with Keys to Creativity and Rejuvenating South Lansing is happy to announce opportunities for artists to present and sell at the Lansing Harmony Celebration's Art Fair on September 8, 2018. The Lansing Harmony Celebration is a free, family friendly, all day event celebrating the diversity of Greater Lansing. The event will present two stages of music and dance, plus food and art from our diverse community of cultures. Held at Benjamin Davis Park in South Lansing beginning at 1:00pm, we will also offer a large array of activities, ethnic food, community art projects, and various games and crafts throughout the day. The day will begin with the Everett Marching Band leading a community parade to the main stage with Mayor Andy Schor's dedication at noon. This family-free event will run to 9:00pm. We expect over 3,000 attendees.
Entry is a $50 refundable charge for one 10x10 artist supplied tent space that will be returned the night of the event to the artist after a successful on-time opening and closing. First ten artists to sign up will receive an addition $25 with their $50 refund for early sign-up at the end of the day. This years (2018) accepted artists will qualify for next years (2019) event at same entry cost of $50. New artists in 2019 will pay the standard $100 per 10x10 space.
Five pieces of your work should be presented digitally in jpg form, with a maximum of 150-word description of your art/presentation to email@example.com with subject “LHC Art Fair” for adjudication. All mediums will be considered. Priority will be given to artists doing demo’s or involving community participation and work that reflects “culture” in some fashion. How culture is defined is up to you.
If accepted, we will return to you a sign-up form, return the form with your $50 refundable payment no later than July 30. Those submissions after July 30 will cost $75 per 10x10 space until August 20th. After August 20 space cost is $100.
Artists will be responsible to provide their own tent, lighting fixtures and heavy-duty extension cords (no light duty extension cords allowed). LHC will provide one table and two chairs, as well as standard 110 electricity. Other requirements for electricity should be included in your application summary. Extra tables will be provided at $10 each with notice before August 1, 2018.
Entry costs will be returned if event is cancelled.
